Anti-lock brake system (with ABS
warning lamp)
This sys tem is used to preven t the wheel
from be ing locked an d pu lling to one si de
during braki ng on a wet an d sl ipp ery
road. It is he lpful for ensuring the
stab ility an d steeri ng funct ion of the
veh icle un de r the ab ov e- st ated si tua tion .
Effective ways for BS brake
pedal: When the anti-lock system operates,
you can feel the impulsive motion of the
brake pedal and also hear a noise. Under
this situation, you can step down the brake
pedal with bigger force than usual, and then
the anti-lock brake system will work. In
case of an emergency brake, do not step
on the brake repeatedly, because that will
increase the brake distance.
stepping on A
When the vehicle accelerates to above
5km/h, the anti-lock brake system will
work; when the vehicle decelerates
to below 5km/h, it will stop working.
When the engine starts or after the vehicle
starts, you may hear a click sound or motor
noise from the engine compartment for
several seconds continuously. That means
the anti-lock brake system is under
self-checking.
When the anti-lock brake system works,
the following situation may occur. They
do not represent faults in the system:
Hearing the operat ion sou nd of the anti-lock
brake syst em and fee ling the impulsi ve moti on of
the brake pe da l tog ether with the vibrat ion of the
veh icl e body an d st ee ring whe el . The motor noise
from the en gi ne com partment will be he ard eve n
if the veh icl e ha s be en pa rked .
The brake pedal may move forward a little
at the end of the operation of the anti-lock
brake system.
Note
Do not overrate the anti-lock brake system:
It is significant to abide by all notes and keep
proper vehicle speed and vehicle spacing,
although this system is helpful for
controlling the vehicle; because, even if
it performs, the effect for the stability of
vehicle and the operation of steering
wheel is limited.
When driving in rainy days, the anti-lock
brake system will be unable to maintain
a control
f the tire exceeds the
admissible ability or in case of a wheel
spin.
to the vehicle if the non-skid
performance o
The anti-lock brake system is not used to
shorten the brake distance. Compared
with vehicles wi thout anti-lock brake system,
a longer brake distance may be needed
under the following situations:
●Driving on a bumpy road and road covered
with smal l stones or snow.
●Vehicles with tire chains.
●Driving on the steps at the junction of
roads.
Install tires with specified specifications
on all wheels: The anti-lock brake system
uses the speed sensor to measure the
vehicle speed to get the rotation speed of
each wheel. Other undesignated tires
can not measure the correct rotation
speed and will extend the brake distance.
ABSwarning lamp
If the ignition key is turned to the position
ON”, the light will illuminate. If the
anti-lock brake system works normally, it
will go out after several seconds. Then, it
will illuminate again in case of any trouble.
WhenABSwarning lamp illuminates
(warning lamp of brake system goes
out), the anti-lock brake system will not
work, but the brake system will still work
normally.
